Job Summary:
The Energy Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement and sourcing of energy for renewable energy projects within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize costs, ensure reliable energy supply, and support sustainability objectives. The Energy Procurement Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's commitment to renewable energy and sustainability goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic procurement plans to ensure the cost-effective procurement of energy for renewable energy projects.
2. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, energy sources, and emerging trends in the renewable energy sector.
3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand energy requirements, forecast demand, and align procurement strategies accordingly.
4. Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
5. Monitor energy market conditions, including pricing, supply availability, and market risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks.
6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize energy procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability performance.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring the timely delivery of energy supplies.
8. Analyze and evaluate supplier performance, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to drive supplier accountability and improvement.
9. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to manage energy budgeting, cost forecasting, and invoice reconciliation processes.
10. Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulations, and technological advancements related to renewable energy procurement.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience in energy procurement, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
3. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
4. Solid knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
5. Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization.
8. Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
10. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and implement innovative solutions.
11. Knowledge of financial and budgeting processes related to energy procurement.
